List Criteria: Only people born in the United States qualify for this list. Vote up the political musicians who should run for office.

This is a list of rock stars who would make the best president. Music and politics have been intertwined much like peas and carrots. Since music first became a popular art form, singers have used the medium as a way to tell stories and to rail against their unfair issues. Both rock stars of the past and present aren't afraid to speak up against political issues that they feel are harmful to them and to society. Many musicians come from humble upbringings so their success, while excessive at times, has taught them how to handle large audiences and how to get their opinions and viewpoints to the population. With their passion and outspokenness against perceived wrongs, rock stars are the best candidates of any entertainment entity to make a great president.

So what would make a great rock star president? The ability to communicate and the willingness to do what's best for the people. Several musicians on this list practice what they preach both on their songs but also in public. Artists like Bruce Springsteen, Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger have a distinctly populist voice in their music and their voices are popular with different types of people. These singers would be a voice that many would unite around. The same goes for rock stars like John Fogerty, John Mellencamp and Eddie Vedder. That is the common bond between all of the different personalities on this list.Their music may be different, but their leadership skills and willing to do what's best even when it's not popular is what will make them the best president.

Vote for the rock star who you think would make the best president. If you notice that a rock star isn't on this list and should be, feel free to add him or her. Feel free to vote and rerank this list as you deem fit.
